Howard County Farmers’ Market Opening this for 2018 Season Howard County Farmers’ Market will be opening for the 2018 season this week on Friday, May 4, with local growers bringing onions, broccoli, brussel sprouts, kale, cabbage, new potatoes, fresh herbs, micro greens, eggs, fried pies, jellies and preserves, baked goods and more. As in the past, each week a drawing will be held for free produce and other market products and a local business, civic group or other entity will sponsor hospitality and share information about themselves with the community. This week Mine Creek Conservation District is sponsoring Hospitality. Also, the “Taste This” demonstrations started last year will continue each Friday featuring produce and other farm products available at market that week. Each Friday there will also be a “Vendor Spotlight”, with a different market vendor highlighted to acquaint customers with local market growers and vendors.
